Holiday Cottage with Wheelchair Access
Kingfisher Cottage is one of our holiday cottages with wheelchair access, specially designed for both able bodied and disabled guests.

Living Room and Kitchen (Open Plan)
Light switches and socket heights no more than 1500mm.
Floor covering is carpet and “Rhinoceros” non-slip vinyl in kitchen area.
Fireplace for winter evenings.
Work surfaces are 650mm high.
Split-level ceramic hob.
Space under the hob which is also 650mm high and the oven and grill are within reach of a person in a wheelchair.
Microwave at a low level.
Sink is 650mm high and there is a space under for easy access. It has lever taps.
Taps and cooker controls can be used from a wheelchair.
Pull-Out table which is 600mm high.
Fridge under the worktop.
Pine dining table can be heightened using blocks which are available if required.
Two easy chairs and a bedsettee (metal sprung).
Two bedrooms, one with a double bed (4ft 6in) and one with two singles (3ft).
One of the singles has a pull-out bed facility.
Floor Covering: Carpet.
Space for a wheelchair to manoeuvre and a wheelchair user would be able to approach at least one side of the double bed and both sides of the single beds.
Blocks can be used to heighten beds.
Bathroom with WC
WC has space for transfer on both sides and grab rails on both sides which swing down.
The bath is 500mm high.
There is space 800mm for side transfer and a horizontal wall mounted grab rails parallel with the top of the bath.
There is a seat at the end of the bath.
A portable Mangaroo hydraulic bath seat is available (no extra charge).
Shower within the bath and controls are within sitting reach.
Floor covering: Hydro “Rhinoceros” non-slip.
Space under the washbasin which has a 650mm space under and all taps are lever.
